Join the Rotary Club of Florence, serving all of Boone County (@FlorenceRotary), on Monday, August 26, 2024, at noon as Mark Staggs (@beer1625), Program Director for Special Olympics of Northern Kentucky, discusses the mission of Special Olympics of Northern Kentucky.

Mark Staggs has been involved in Special Olympics NKY since 1990. He became program director (volunteer position) in 1994. His involvement in Special Olympics began after his son John and daughter Jennifer got into the program. He and his wife Debbie worked on growing the program from 10 activities to 13 activities today. These activities include Basketball, Track and Field, Skiing, Golf, Softball, Fishing, Flag Football, Swimming, Bowling, Soccer, Bocce ball, Cheerleading, and young athletes program. There are over 500 Special Olympic athletes that participate in the local program. 

Special Olympics of Northern Kentucky is an all-volunteer organization offering sports and athletic training to individuals aged 8 and up with cognitive and related developmental disabilities. SONKY offers 13 events and activities that occur year round.

Guests are always welcome to join, meet members and learn about the club.
